Our client is Mobile Multimedia group of US semiconductor manufacturer that produces diverse range of integrated circuits, for applications ranging from networking devices to TV set-top boxes. Mobile Multimedia group work on development of low-power programmable microprocessors to enable high-performance audio and video for mobile devices such as phones and cameras. Current generation of multimedia coprocessors is already being used in devices by several major consumer electronics companies.
Role To work as part of extremely strong technical team on development of software for our devices. You will be working on system integration software, video and audio codecs, streaming protocols, image processing algorithms, and wide range of other multimedia applications.
You require background in developing embedded software in C and Assembly language. Previous experience of video or audio processing advantageous. Based at offices in Cambridge, with opportunity for travel (mostly to Far East and US) to visit customers.
Specific Responsibilities Detailed design, coding and testing of software and software modules. Some project-level management. Contributing to discussions on future processors. Technical curiosity and development of own ideas.
Minimum Requirements 1st * 2:1 degree, preferably Electronic Engineering, Computing or related discipline. Min 3 yrs recent experience in C programming for embedded systems. Passion for technology - perhaps hobby interest.
